What a fantastic day. Rachel & Robert's wedding was a great
success with singing and dancing until 2am. I know my room was above
the dance floor!
The day started with the girls getting ready in a picturesque
cottage a short walk from the quayside. Then a horse drawn carriage
to the church. The traffic is exceptionally busy in Westport so the
bride arrived well before the bridesmaids!!!
After the service the weather had taken a turn for the worse
pouring down with rain, so we photographed the family groups by the
altar and headed straight off the Wyatt Hotel for the drinks
reception.
Whilst Rachel & Robert enjoyed the wedding breakfast I was
checking out the satellite weather images on the internet, hoping
there would be a break in the rain after the speeches so we could
visit the quayside for some photos.
Our luck was in and we were able to use my car for the short drive
down the the quay for photos. I'd found a disused quay away from the
boats with fantastic views across the bay. After quickly mopping up
the puddles with a towel borrowed from the hotel we captured some
awesome images, which I'm sure will be treasured in the years to
come. Not only do they capture the beauty of West Coast of Ireland,
but the dramatic light complimented Rachel's wedding gown
beautifully.
A quick drive back to the hotel to kick off the evening with a
live band and the first dance as Husband & Wife.
Everybody had a
wonderful time. I met most of the guests on the flight back to
Manchester and everybody was taking about it. I'm sure this will be a
very memorable wedding for everybody.
